Aircraft Systems
The Aircraft Systems Concentration requires students to obtain a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument and Multi-Engine privileges. This area has a competitive selection interview and examination to ensure that adequate knowledge has been obtained prior to beginning flight education. It also has the additional cost of airplane and usage fees.
Programs focusing on aircraft systems are offered through both the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering. Depending upon the student's interest, the program through the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences leads to either a B.A. or a B.S. This program is geared toward students who prefer a liberal arts background and a broader base of social sciences. The program through the College of Engineering, on the other hand, offers an approach with greater emphasis on engineering science and analysis. The engineering program leads to a bachelor of science.
