Human Factors
The Human Factors Concentration provides an understanding of how the machine interfaces with the person and the psychology of crew coordination, as well as the ergonomics of cockpit design and the physiology of flight.
Programs focusing on Human Factors are offered through both the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering. The program through the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences leads to either a B.A. or a B.S. depending upon the student's interest. This program is geared toward students who prefer a liberal arts background and a broader base of social sciences. The program through the College of Engineering, on the other hand, offers an approach with greater emphasis on engineering science and analysis. The engineering program leads to a bachelor of science.
