Although your first thought of aviation may be of a pilot flying an aircraft, this is only a small part of what aviation has to offer. Students interested in becoming a pilot or learning more about the operation of aircraft can do just that in one of the majors focusing on aircraft systems. Finally, students interested in aviation who also have an interest in management can combine the two in one of Ohio State's aviation management majors.

You can major in aviation through the College of Engineering, the College of Business, or the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences. Most students, however, enter University College upon enrolling at Ohio State and remain enrolled until they complete certain courses specific to their intended major and college.
The B.S. in Aviation through the College of Engineering is designed for students interested in a program containing a strong engineering science and analysis component.
The Major in Aviation through the Colleges of Arts and Sciences leads to a B.S. or B.A. depending on a student's interest. This degree is for those who prefer a liberal arts background and a broader base of social sciences.
For those who desire a background in business management principles, the College of Business offers an Aviation Management Special Major.
